Case Management and Transitional Housing
This two-year program is the core service of the Center. Case Managers empower residents by providing linkage to other community resources, assistance with goal setting, counseling, accessing welfare benefits, and supporting women in achieving self-sufficiency and independence.
Vocational Training
All residents of the Center are eligible to participate in the Vocational Training Program at our Transitions Resale Store. This program is designed to empower women gain the skills necessary to compete in the employment market place. Staff will assist participants in developing retail skills, building a resume, creating a reference base and growing self-confidence.
Children’s Program
The Center provides supportive services such as playgroups, field trips and other special events, parent education, and advocacy for resident children in the community.
Emergency Shelter
In partnership with The First United Methodist Church of Champaign, the Center provides screening and a pick-up point for those in immediate need for shelter from January through mid-April. Please call the Center at 352-7151 for more information.
Supportive Services
The Center provides a wide range of ancillary services for residents such as a food pantry, fitness room, bus tokens, life skills and other educational programs designed to meet the needs of the residents of the Center.
Our mission at CWT is two-fold: to provide women in need with a home and to foster and sustain their self-sufficiency. We also raise awareness about homelessness and advocate for women's empowerment in our community.
